Mental health advocate and musician Professor Green announced as guest at Podfest for Mental Health this weekend
Releasing his debut album in 2010, Alive Till I’m Dead, Stephen Manderson (AKA Professor Green) came onto the British music scene with a bang. In recent years however, his work in the mental health industry has seen him gain attention as an advocate, speaking about mental health and grief.
His documentary, Suicide and Me, gave the nation an insight into the mental health challenges he’s encountered, including suicide bereavment. Working with Heads Together to raise mental health awareness among young people and interviewing guests such as Hussain Manawer, Gizi Erskine and Jeremy Corbyn for his podcast Learning to Adult, Slowly, Professor Green has become a prominent voice in the mental health arena.
We are pleased to announce that Professor Green will be joining Grace Victory, Jordan Stephens, You, Me and The Big C co-hosts Deborah James and Lauren Mahon, Mentally Yrs Podcast co-creator Yvette Caster and CEO of Mental Health Foundation Mark Rowland at Podfest for Mental Health this Saturday 30 March.
Professor Green will be recording a special edition of his podcast, Learning to Adult, Slowly. Hosted by The Book of Man, Learning to Adult, Slowly covers issues affecting men today - that aren’t better left unsaid. This special edition at Podfest For Mental Health will cover men’s self care.
There will also be live recordings of I am. I have, The Naked Professors with Ben Bidwell and Matt Johnson, What I Wish I Had Known About Maternal Mental Health, as well as a special panel talk to end the day.
Tickets for each podcast recording are £10, day tickets are £40 (all proceeds will be donated to the Mental Health Foundation) and everyone will receive a special goody bag including Happiful magazine, loving earth chocolate, Bounce balls and eco-friendly products from DAME and The Natural Deodorant Co.
All podcasts recorded on the day will be released across Mental Health Awareness Week (13-19 May).
