Samaritans' Lucia Capobianco will join Happiful for a free webinar to discuss the importance of listening and share actionable advice on how to truly hear and support others

Do you know what you are capable of, if you listen - really listen? Not only do we understand the world around us more when we listen, but we can actively support others too.

In these times of great uncertainty, the ability to be heard and to lend others an ear is more important than ever before. That’s why Happiful is incredibly grateful to Samaritans for the ongoing work they do and also for co-creating this webinar to help us all improve our listening skills.

Lucia Capobianco from Samaritans, will share thoughts around the importance of being listened to, active listening, what it takes to be a good listener and how you can help others by truly hearing them.

The Power of Listening will take place on Thursday 30 July at 11am and will last for around 45 minutes, with a 15 minute discussion session at the end.

About Samaritans

Samaritans are open and ready to talk, day and night, for anyone who’s struggling to cope, who needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure.

Samaritans are not only for the moment of crisis, they’re taking action to prevent the crisis.

Samaritans also give people ways to cope and the skills to be there for others. They encourage, promote and celebrate those moments of connection between people that can save lives.

They offer listening and support to people and communities in times of need.
In prisons, schools, hospitals and on the rail network, Samaritans are working with people who are going through a difficult time and training others to do the same.

Every life lost to suicide is a tragedy, and Samaritans’ vision is that fewer people die by suicide. That’s why they work tirelessly to reach more people and make suicide prevention a priority.
