Mental health advocates share the passions that shape their lives, as well as thoughts on their own mental health in Happiful and Counselling Directory's new podcast

At Happiful HQ we believe that while we all have mental health - and some of us will experience or live with mental illness - it doesn’t define the whole person we are. We also know that talking about our own mental health challenges and sharing personal experiences can have a positive ripple effect, as other people who may not have felt able to open up before realise that they are not alone and start to talk too.

Mental illness should have no shame or stigma attached to it, and in 2019 we will continue our mission to keep the conversation going and eradicate all traces of taboo around talking.

We’re starting by launching our new podcast I am. I have on Monday 7 January with a line up of fantastic mental health advocates including Estée Lalonde, Ben Bidwell (AKA The Naked Professor) and Jo Love.

I am, I have

All guests will share three passions, as well as the mental health challenges they have experienced or currently live with. Each episode will finish with reflections and words of wisdom for their younger selves.

From the middle of January, we’ll also be introducing I am. I have - How it Helps. We’ll hear from a number of professional therapists, starting with psychotherapist and Clinical Director of The London Practice Lee Valls. Lee will discuss the positive impact talking can have when experiencing anger, grief, anxiety and relationship issues (also drawing from his experience as consultant psychotherapist on Channel 4’s Seven Year Switch).

Happiful’s new podcast series starts on 7 January with Estée Lalonde, content creator and vlogger, sharing how she continues to evolve after spending nine years developing her career, reflections on travelling and the positivity it brings and her beloved rescue greyhound Reggie. Estée also discusses how she manages anxiety and depression and her hopes for the future.

We hope you’ll join us for I am. I have as we chat life passions, learnings and how we are all so much more than a mental health label.

You can subscribe to I am. I have now to have it ready and waiting for you on Monday mornings.
